The Rainbow Nation

With all the differences and injustice of the past that might have left scars in our hearts, we still proudly South Africans. This country belong to us and it's us who will determine it's success or failure. Standing together in doing good will only make the country better for all of us. We standing strong even though those who jumped the ship wish us failure and continue pointing out the failures we have but turn a blind eye on the success that we achieve as a nation. I'm part of this rainbow nation and will land a hand in making sure that my children will live in a better South Africa.

@ Grumpy (I mean - Pumpy), hate is a strong word but then again you are living in a country full of hate. The so called "chickens" are the clever ones, both literally and figuratively.

There are many South Africans of all colours dying (excuse the pun) to get out of that hell-hole of a country but they don't have any skills. I bet that you are one of those, you protest too much my dear.

Hi there, nice blog...followed it off your SCC signature. Here is a blog I have been working on of late - thebeercap.blogspot.com - it is about the township drinking culture, still a newish blog, but hope you enjoy and keep up the good work.

For you Anonymous, who will not tell us his name. We do not want to leave South Africa, and we are fully qualified to do so if we wish. My husband is a professional man we can go anywhere we want. Come over to South Africa the "hell hole" and see for yourself or are you too much of a "Chicken" xx

My name is Mike (can't be bothered to register) and I do live in South Africa, Melville.

I am one of those that doesn't have the skills to emmigrate but I am going to change all that.

I can't wait to get out of this banana republic and join the so-called "chicken run".

See ya, wouldn't want to be ya.

Poor Mike, I see now that your problem is that the race card doesn't work anymore and you need to have a skill to work in the new South African and that's why you so bitter.

Go join BNP in the UK as failures like you are welcomed with open hands.

Pumpy, we will work to get this country to the top. Ek is baie lief vir Suid Afrika.

I love my country and I'm glad that we got people like you Pumpy who are prepared to make this country work.

We will lash at our government were it goes wrong and praise them when so needed. Together we can make it.

I am coloured with a white partner, this Government is just as racist as the apartheid regime but what makes this government worse is the fact that they are incompetent, corrupt and criminals.

I am not bitter, I am facing reality and I don't want to be one of the frogs who sit in the pot while the temperature is turned up.

Pumpy, I admire your optimism which is clouded with ignorance, do you really think that this is the only Country in the World that can offer natural beauty with frogs and crickets ? One thing that I can promise you is that you won't be hearing gunshots in the background if you are in more civilised countries.

There are countries in the world with way better scenic splendour than South Africa, way safer, equal opportunity where skin colour is not the issue and you are not judged by the political party you vote for.

Best you all start working then and making this dump better, nothing better than fighting a lost cause.

As for The UK, no thanks, that will be my last option.

Suid Afrika is 'n lekker kak plek.

I guess all those civilised countries just woke up one day and see themselves civilised. I would appriciate if you can support your statement that the current government is worse than the last.

I guess you would have been able to marry a white woman in the same old apartheid government?

Remeber that in the new South Africa there's freedom of the press. You can now comment about the new government while there was not platform to comment about the old one.

Honestly I really don't know why I'm responding to your post as it's clear that you not well informed.

Mike, hoe gaan dit broer ? Ek is ook 'n kleurling en ek stem saam met jou. But seeing that this is in english I will continue in english.
I have just come from a tour of Australia and New Zealand and I must ask you, have you been to New Zealand ?

New Zealand is brilliant man. The cities are clean (you can eat off the pavements), the public transport is fantastic, hardly any crime (there was one murder there and it made the news headline for days on end, they usually catch the bastards soon afterwards), no racism (equal opportunities for everybody), no curruption at all, people stop and talk to you in the streets, the city centres are alive (even at night it is like during office hours), the shopping makes us look like some third world African country (my wife bankrupted me), the scenery is like nothing I have ever seen before. The weather is warmer than Jozi.

I was also surprised that they are in recession, it doesn't look like it, hardly any empty shops, the restaurants are always full and Auckland is just as busy as Jozi man.

Australia is nothing special but I am definitely making plans to move to New Zealand. You should go and see it boet. Baie kleurlinge in Auckland.

The South Africa government is just as pathetic as the taxi drivers here. Coming home and reading the news here makes me feel embarrassed to be a South African. Suid Afrika se moer man.
